Tools are expensive. When I have the chance to purchase kits or parts to build my own tools, I all over it. This kit for a bevel down adjustable hand plane comes from Lee Valley and comes with everything you need except for wood.
I made this build a lot more complicated than it needed to be because I wanted contrasting woods. It was, in truth, a very simple project. The instructions were very clear and with minimal tools, you could knock one out no problem.
As a personal touch, I used my CNC router and a V bit to engrave my initials into the level cap.
